Welcome to the Harrington racing web pages for our Stockkart racing and Brisca Formula 1 supporting!

The Stockkart formula was developed in 2003 with 2004 being the first full season of races. Managing Director of Makin Organs, Dr Keith Harrington and his son John joined as a Father and Son team in 2006 with their newly built 391 car which Keith drives in the senior races and John in the junior races.

The number for our first Stockkart 391 is taken from the world's best ever F1 Stockcar driver, Stuart Smith, who, in racing from the 1965 through to the mid 1986, totally dominated the sport being world champion on six occasions and national points champion for thirteen years in a row. Stuart's sons Andrew (391) and Stuart Jnr (390) are now top drivers of their generation and very much share their fathers determination and guts to win.

Our second Stockkart (392) was built for the girls (Corbie & Valerie). It would have been nice to have had number 390, but since that was already taken we have elected to have number 392. It also saves explaining to Stuart why his car number is painted in pink & black!

As is common with most oval racing formats, drivers start as novices with 'white tops' moving on to 'yellow', 'blue' and 'red tops' as their experience and skill increases. The best red top drivers are known as 'super stars' who may in addition to the red roof have flashing lights on top of the aerofoil. The 'silver top' is reserved for the national points champion and the 'gold top' as world champion. The order of the line up on the grid from the front is white, yellow, blue, red, superstars with a rolling start followed by between 10 and 15 laps to the chequered flag. This means that there is lively racing with plenty of interest for drivers and spectators alike.

We race on many tracks around the country, sometimes as a private track hire, whilst on other occasions in front of large F1 crowds at tracks such as Coventry.
